Jamie Brownfield, 25, hails from the village of Llanrhaeadr Y.M. in Mid Wales. He is a widely respected jazz musician who started on the cornet aged 9 playing in the local brass band and by the time he was 12 was performing jazz in public, guesting wherever he could at local jazz clubs. In 2005, when Jamie was 13, he formed his first band ‘The JB Quintet’ and the following year recorded his first CD ‘No Animals Were Harmed……’
Jamie has been playing professionally now for many years and is available for any event or session work, playing all styles of jazz from New Orleans to Bebop!
He has his own band, “The Jamie Brownfield Quartet” and co-runs both “The Brownfield/Byrne Quintet & Hot Six” with Saxophonist Liam Byrne. Although Jamie is very busy with festivals & club dates throughout the year with his bands he also enjoys guesting with many other different bands of widely varying styles.
